What Matters Most To God!

LIFE IS all about love because God is love, the most important thing he wants you to learn on earth is how to love: it is in loving that we are most like Him.

So, love is the foundation of every command he has given us, love powers the Christian life, “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; “thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” (Gal 5:14 KJV)

Learning to love unselfishly is not an easy task, it runs counter to our self-centered nature. That’s why we are given a lifetime to learn it.

God expects us to love everyone but he is especially concerned that we learn to love others in his family(the church).

When we got born again we were born into God’s family which is the church, the body of Christ on earth. 1 Peter 2:17b says, “Love the brotherhood” Also apostle Paul’s affirmation in Gal 6:10, “As we have the opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith”.

This is because God needs His family to be known for its love more than anything else, so he considers it a priority and more vital to show themselves special love and attention.

Jesus said our love for each other, not doctrinal beliefs is our greatest witness to the world.

Recall; the Apostles at Antioch and the modality of the early church. How they bear each other's burdens and share everything in common.

In heaven, we will enjoy God’s family forever, but first, we have some work to do here on earth; to prepare ourselves for eternity of Loving.

God trains us by giving us “family responsibilities”, and the foremost of these is to practice loving each other, this is why you hear, “Charity begins at home” in the family circle.

Love cannot be learned in isolation. You have to be around people –irritating, imperfect, frustrating people: through fellowship.

Love should be your top priority, primary objective, and greatest longing. Love is not a good part of life, it is the most important part of life. Love is God in you.

The Bible says, “Let love be your greatest aim”-  1 Cor.14:1 LB. Life without love is worthless.

Paul says, “And though I give my body to be burned, and have no love, it profiteth me nothing”. - 1 Cor.13:3.

Four of the Ten Commandments deal with our relationship with God while the other six deal with our relationship with people.

But all ten are about relationships, often we act as if relationships are something to be squeezed into our schedule.

That gives the impression that relationships are just a part of our lives along with many other tasks.

But God says, relationships are what life is all about, Jesus later summarized what matters most to God into two statements; “Love God and Love people” (see Matt.22:37-40).

Relationships, not achievements or the acquisition of things are What Matters Most in Life.
