Scripture Text:  "The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets." – Proverbs 22:13

Sometimes we know what we should be doing, but we are hesitant to take the first step.

We always intend to do it, but we never do. Instead, we make excuses for when we feel it is most suitable to face such tasks.

Such as, when my life gets better and less complicated, or after I pray about it more.

The Two Fishermen

There's a story of two fishermen Who were lost in a storm on a lake. The storm was blowing so fiercely that they couldn't see a thing.

One of the fishermen said to his colleague, we have two choices; we can pray or row, Which one should we do?

The other answered, let's do both. That's the way you need to start living your life as a believer, that has been redeemed back to glory.

Our scripture text says the lazy person claims there is a lion out there, If I go outside I might be killed.

The redeemed aren't supposed to be thinking this way. God is outrightly saying, stop giving excuses because all things are possible if you take that step of faith.

Learn The Ways Of The Eagle

When I watch the ways of the Eagle, it really amazes me, particularly at the stage when it teaches the eaglet to hunt and make a flight, to get out of his comfort zone and make a living.

Faith is an agreement with God, with God's instruction to be positive and consequently, do work by applying action.

Just as the eagle grooms and trains her eaglets to fly and hunt for food, to face life, to live in the wild and win.

That is how God wants us to fight and win. I understand and learn from the scriptures that we have battles ahead.

Life itself is a place of warfare and the weapons to fight in this battle of life we should also understand that they are not carnal but are mighty in God. "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;"- 2Cor.10:4

No Excuse With Faith

So, to see the supernatural happen in your life you must engage the forces of the supernatural. Faith is a supernatural force that enforces divine turnaround.

Our Father, the Almighty God wants us to be stronger than our excuses. Faith is a course to fight and overcome and not for the weak or the slothful.

God already gave the land of Heshbon to his chosen nation Israel.  But he still wants them to contend in battle before they can possess it.

"Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle". -Deuteronomy 2:24

The Evident Of Faith Is Work

That's how God prepares us ahead. He does not like excuses. He wants you to be tough. He needs you to stand and win. And ultimately God desires that you possess your possession.

Our Father does not want us to become weak,  from that scripture you notice He had given the land to the Israelites, yet asking them to fight and contend in battle before they can possess it.

From the same scripture, I could imagine probably the Israelites were becoming too relaxed, lazy, "and reluctant. And for that, God had to wake them up. He said "Rise up", take your churning.  He wants them to be active. That is meaning get up and move and don't be lazy or give any flimsy excuses.

To win in life we have to understand the ways and the character of God. Because he wants us to work and cultivate.  The Father also works, and for that He hates laziness.

God won't give you a finished product because you are His son. As a redeemed you are now a partner of the divine nature, you have become good and can do the impossible via Faith.

Only the slothful give excuses the faithful are strongly doing exploits, " And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits." - Daniel 11:32

I pray that the Lord grant you more understanding to focus more on achieving his will instead of seeing excuses and reasons why you can't accomplish them.

PRAYER

1. Give God thanks, and appreciate Him for today's world. You can also sing Him some songs of worship

2. Father, IJN:  I receive strength in my spirit to be. Strong in faith and to withstand and overcome all the darts of the wicked.

3. Father, IJN: I resist every spirit of slothfulness kicking against my decisions to be diligent and to do work.

4. Father, IJN:  I decree fire from above to consume all orchestration of hell and barriers to my successes, let them be burnt to ashes.

ASSIGNMENT

Be on guard against making excuses that might hinder your blessings, especially at work. Remember, that work unleashes your innate potential. God bless you and faith without work is dead.
