For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works” – Ephesians 2:10

Every Christian is a workman, and by that, it means every one of us has an assignment in the world.

We must understand as Children of God that life isn't a fun fare, life is an assignment for every Christian, all true followers of Jesus Christ.

That’s right, you heard it – EVERY DAY. Every time you turn on a computer, flip on a cellphone or pick up the newspaper, there’s a chance that something life-changing could happen to you.

Now, we’re not talking about something that will blow your mind – no, we’re talking about something so life-changing that it might just be the beginning of changing your whole world!

But you have to go all-out to make it happen. Do you remember how that one person you came in contact with changed your life?

It was an unexpected meeting at a conference or while visiting a church. Maybe it was a friend’s text message, a sermon in a church, or that random email that changed your life. It could have been all of the above!

I know, yea I know, it’s easy to get caught up in the things of this world, and with how busy life is, it’s easy to forget that it is in those seemingly “useless” moments that God can do the most amazing things!

But for most of us, those things that we do as  Christians, aren’t enough.

When it comes to making disciples, we know that we need to do more than go to church or study the Bible, we also need to get out there and start showing Christ’s love to those that are in need.

Let us see what the Bible says about it,

“As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” - Galatians 6:10 (NKJV)

So, we’re going to give you a little tool that will help you live out your faith, and to show Christ’s love to those around you.

We’ve been around the world and found a list of 8 things we need to do to make Christ’s love reach the world.

If you do these things faithfully, then your efforts won’t go unnoticed.

And even if you do more than what we’ve laid out, it’s okay. If you will just give a few minutes a day, you’re bound to start seeing some amazing things in your life!

So, here are 8 things to keep in mind:

1. Talk About Jesus To Everyone You Meet.

“We will go on ahead of you, because the eyes of the Lord are upon those who fear him.” - 1 Samuel 17:46 (NIV)

The moment you get to talking to someone, you start living out your faith! The more people you talk to, the more Christ’s love you spread.

You may start with a simple question, but you can end with a life-changing testimony!

The more that people know about Christ, the more they’re going to start thinking about him and coming to know him.

If you’re not a good storyteller, then you can always have them share their testimony with you! But whatever you do, remember to talk about Jesus. Don’t let him be a stranger!

2. Get To Know Others In Your Area.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” - Galatians 5:1 (NIV)

We’ve all been there, where we get really busy with all of the things of this world and fail to remember that there is more to life than being right in front of our computers.

The longer you get to know others in your area, the more you’ll be able to understand where they’re coming from.

It could be your neighbors, friends, coworkers, or even family members! Get out there and meet some new people.

If they accept Christ, then it’ll be like you’ve been in their shoes!

3. Become A Leader In The Local Church.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” - Galatians 6:9 (NIV)

The more you’re around the leaders, the more you’re gonna learn and discover. Not only will you discover their faith, but you’ll be able to figure out how they do things.

The leaders in the local church could be the pastor, deacons, teachers, and of course, the elders. But the local church is not a closed place.

They could be the ones that volunteer for a certain ministry or go on a mission trip together. You may be surprised at what you’ll learn!

4. Make Your Area A Better Place.

“I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.” - Romans 1:16 (NIV)

The more you go out there and see the needs of those around you, the more Christ’s love will take root in your heart.

“I am glad, says the Lord, that I have been found by you; though you have not known me, I know you. I have seen you and you have not known me. I am the Lord who brings redemption.” - Isaiah 49:8-9 (NIV)

The longer you become a part of your community, the more of Christ’s love you will be able to share with others.

Don’t just donate, get involved!

If it’s not within your means, you can always talk to your pastor and see if he or she can help.

You can also do service projects, or volunteer to help other churches or organizations. Your local city could always use your help in this regard.

5. Get Involved With The Community.

“If anyone has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does the love of God rest on him?” - 1 John 3:17 (NIV)

As you start living out your faith, you’re bound to start interacting with those around you.

These are people that will see you out there doing the things that you believe in, and they’ll be more than willing to support you.

Whether you’re in need, or the needy person is in need, they’re always looking to help you out!

But be watchful, if you’re starting to look for those in need, then you’re making a promise that God expects you to keep.

We’re not saying that you should just go and pick up random people, but you’ll be able to find those that need support, or your skills to help them out.

6. Volunteer At Your Local Church.

“The one who hopes in the Lord will renew his strength.” - Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

Your church may not have the biggest budget or the biggest programs, but that doesn’t mean that your church isn’t effective.

You may think that you’re only a small part of this world, but you’ll be surprised to see the results that you have with the simple things that you’re doing.

Volunteering at your church is the best way to see what’s going on with the local church.

From teaching children to the elderly, cleaning, cleaning the building, setting up church services, or even making coffee, there are many different ways that you can help.

You may start small, but the results you’ll start to see from your efforts could be amazing.

7. Share Your Faith.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” - Romans 15:13 (NIV)

Just as Jesus came to give us hope, we need to follow his example. He started with the poor, the sick, and the needy.

He’s doing the same things for us. We know that he’s a perfect example for us to follow, but we also need to put our faith into action.

There is more to life than just living it, and we need to stop thinking of what we want and start thinking about what we need.

So when you’re ready to share your faith, go for it!

Get on your knees, close your eyes, and share the gospel with those that you meet.

Don’t let them know what they need to hear, let them come to know Christ.

8. Love The People Around You.

“For this is my command – to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” - Luke 10:27 (NIV)

People see right through our actions. It may seem like they don’t, but if you’re doing the right things, then they’ll definitely start to notice.

The longer you show Christ’s love to those around you, the more they will be open-minded about what you have to say.

Plus, they’ll also see how your faith is affecting your life. A simple act of kindness that’s done for the love of God will go far in this life.

And even if your intentions aren’t good, don’t worry! As long as you don’t do the “right” thing, it’s still OK. You may still give away the wrong things, but at least you’re being “loving” to those around you.

Do you know what’s really awesome? You know what it means to walk out of your faith. But you have to know that your faith has more than one expression.
