The Absolute Obedience To God (the hundred percent Christian 3)

 Scripture text: "But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed." - James 1:25 KJV

Good day, and welcome to another winning day. knowledge they say is power, but the application of knowledge makes a superpower, it turns the ordinary fellow into the extra-ordinary, and it results in the supernatural order of testimony, Jesus said, "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself to him"- John 14:21

The one Jesus talks about is not just having the head knowledge, he knows the commandments and also puts them to work, Jesus himself said,

"I will love him and will manifest myself to him"  when Jesus visits you he turns you around, in others words "I will prove my word to him" I will fulfill and perfect that which concerns him because he only does not hear me but he obeys my word; to keep them. Today we will continue with the third part of the topic;

The Hundred Percent Christian, recall that the 'Hundred Percent' in our context, is not about perfection, or a zero-tolerance for sin believers, this, of course, we can attain through the help of God, but at this juncture.

There are things that should be in place to help keep you on the lane as a true believer, these things are what we must know so we are not pushed around by doctrines, and schemes of men, and to rest assured of our high calling in the Firstborn, Jesus Christ.

So, what else is involved, to be a Hundred Percent Christian? This is the third article on the topic; "The Hundred Percent Christian" Consider reading through our previous lessons on this, The Hundred Percent Christian (1), The Hundred Percent Christian (2)

3. Absolute Obedience

I guess it will marvel you to hear this; that absolute obedience equals happiness. Obedience is not a prerequisite for salvation, but it is a prerequisite for happiness. There are people in the church who are saved but are not happy. Your guess is mine, Why, right?

 They are not obeying. In John 13:17 Jesus said, "If you know these things, happy are ye if ye do them", in this case, it involves the head, the hand, and the heart, "If ye know these things (the head), happy are ye (the heart) if ye do them (the hands),

 Knowledge is therefore vital, it is a prerequisite for obedience, you have to know first to be able to obey. You don't come to Sunday school or to church service to register your names in the kingdom attendance schedule.

But to get informed and to acquaint yourself with the principles of the kingdom, and that is the sure reason for going to Bible-believing churches where these kingdom principles are been taught.

However, knowing these principles will not produce happiness. If you want to be a happy Christian, there must be absolute obedience. So, as you go to church and learn what you ought to do, the next thing is to decide to do them, the Bible in Joshua 1:8 says,

"This book of the shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success" - As you can see,

 your happiness and success in life are a function of how obedient you are to His word, therefore as you learn these principles get your head bent on doing them, even if your friends are gonna get mad at you, go ahead and obey His word, this is what brings happiness.

Just do what He says in the Bible. A popular place in the Bible, 1 Samuel 15:22 says, "Obedience is better than sacrifice" God will rather prefer you obey Him than bring Him great sacrifice, and Jesus said, "if you love me keep my commandments".

As a newborn in Christ, you begin living in obedience;

Firstly, You confess Christ with your mouth after you have given your life to God, Rom.10:10 says, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation" that is you openly confess Christ with your mouth, don't follow him in secret.

This is because until you confess to Jesus you may not be truly happy.

The Book of Acts. 2:41 says, "They that gladly received his word were baptized." that is obedience. When you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior, the second act of obedience is to receive the believers' baptism.

 It is a commandment, if you obey them happy are ye. someone asked this prudent question; "of what need is being shameful of what is gainful"? . If obedience pays us so much then let us go ahead and obey God.

Our scripture text says, "....he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed" when you work the word, you receive the blessing that follows it, and all you do will be blessed.
