The Absolute Dependence On The Assurance (the 100% Christian 2)

Scripture text: "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path"- Psalms 119:105 KJV.

The Hundred Percent Christian (2)

Good day, "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it" - Psalms 118:23. It is your day.!

Knowledge is a vital key in life, but understanding is crucial if you must possess your God's given place in life and destiny.

Hear this, "My son, eat thou honey, because it is good, and the honey comb, which is sweet to thy taste: so shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off"-Prov. 24:13 KJV.

Hearing can simply be likened to knowledge acquisition, but knowledge must be processed, so understanding is the processing of knowledge.

Understanding of the word is solely by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit ( see John 14:26), and understanding of the word is divine.

God will inspire you today as we continue on the topic "The Hundred Percent Christian", previously we said the first thing involved in being a hundred percent Christian, Which is Absolute Dependence on What God Has Done

In other words, SALVATION! A man who sincerely trusts religion, the church, baptism, or works will go to Hell( not meant to be harsh) when he dies. "He that believeth not on the Son is condemned already" - John 3:18,  (see also John 16:16), "it says " He that believeth not shall not see life"

This is because life in Christ is not mere religion and it's not by works, but the grace which is by Christ.

The second thing that is involved in being a hundred percent Christian is:

2. Absolute Dependence On What God Has Said.

Being a one hundred percent Christian not only involves absolute dependence on what God has done but also; an absolute dependence on what God has said. This is very crucial, in our journey of Faith. Absolute dependence on what God has done equals SALVATION; absolute dependence on what God has said equals ASSURANCE.

This is where we need a lot of attention, because, I do not know I am saved because I feel good, I do not know I am saved because I am a preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, nope, I am not because I live a good life.

There are of course a great number of people out there who live in luxury and great wealth but aren't saved.

I know I am saved for only one reason and that one reason alone - I have my total dependence on what God has said in the Bible.

1 John 5:13 we read, "These things have I written unto you that ye may know that ye have eternal life."Did you hear that the scripture was written for a record unto our account, "that ye may know"

Jesus isn't giving feelings here because feelings aren't permanent, they fluctuate, sometimes you wake on the other side of the bed, and you are super happy before you know it the mood just vanishes like a spirit into the air,

If you depend on your possession, of course, things don't satisfy, now you know why the wealthy keep buying a lot of luxurious things, it's not that they need them, it's a feeling; that when they acquire such, it will make them happy.

Maybe it's true, but such happiness does not last a long time until they have to buy something else, you don't buy joy with money,

There are days when we wake up depressed, and other days we awake with great euphoria, if you base the assurance of your salvation on how you feel,

The result will be that when you feel bad you will doubt your salvation. So, You must base the assurance of your salvation on something that does not change.

You cannot base the assurance of your salvation on how you live because you do not always live perfectly, probably you do.

God said, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life". 1John5:13 KJV.

He has written it; He has given us something in writing, and of course, we prefer to have things in writing.

I want to post an illustration to enable depict it in a clearer picture, say you, purchase a very new car of your choice from a car dealer, and the evidence that proves ownership of the car, is the receipt, in other words, "the evidence of payment" which is black and white, that's written down.

What has God written, you may probably be asking still, John 6: 37: " Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out"

How do I know I am saved? I came to Him, I trusted Him and He said He would not cast me out.

Rom. 10:13 says, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved".

How do I know I am saved? I called on Him, and I said, "Dear Lord Jesus, save me, a sinner." He said if I called on Him, I would be saved.

I know it is as He said because He cannot lie. I have to be saved. Hallelujah!!

You were a sinner, But Jesus came took upon himself your sin, paid the penalty of sin which is death, he died your death, and now you have been made free in Him.

Now, do you believe that Jesus's death was payment for your sin? Are you completely trusting his sacrificial death for your salvation?

God's Word, is the ASSURANCE of your SALVATION in Christ. God is not a man to lie.

"It is impossible for God to lie" - Heb. 6:18

PRAYER

Father, IJN: I put my trust in you, and I have absolute faith in your word, I believe Jesus died for my sins and on the third day he rose from the dead, I believe I am justified in him and that I have life everlasting.

"There is no ASSURANCE in life, it is  only God that gives ASSURANCE"
